I’m a bit puzzled by all this. I received two missed calls from a restricted number, and since I thought they'd leave a voicemail if it was anything urgent, I opted not to pick up. Then, at the early hour of 5:30am, another call came in from this number, but again, no message was left. It’s all rather strange, and I can’t quite figure out what’s happening.

This number belongs to the police enquiry centre in Huntington. I got a call from them, but I chose not to pick up. The reason? I was wrestling with some dark thoughts about self-harm and had just confided in my partner who lives far away. I received a rather alarming call allegedly from the Cambridgeshire police, claiming they had received a call from my son’s mobile. They proceeded to ask for my name, address, and other personal details. Naturally, I was quite cautious and declined to provide any information, as I’d checked his call log and confirmed he never phoned 999 at all. I simply mentioned that everything was alright, suggesting that perhaps my little one had accidentally hit the dial button. What puzzled me further was the fact that their number showed up on my caller ID-surely if it were the police, that wouldn’t be the case?

Who was that? No clue. Like I said earlier, I picked up and it was a recorded message saying it was Cambs police, saying they don’t take incoming calls and to ring 101.
