A woman of Asian descent contacted me, asserting that she represented BT and had proof that my router was under threat from scammers. She requested permission to access both my computer and router, claiming this was necessary for her BT technicians to ensure my safety. Interestingly, she already had my name and address. I decided to call BT directly (not on the number she provided) and they confirmed it was unequivocally a scam.
