Just got a phone call from this number. The bloke claimed he was from some kind of "blocking" department, saying he was ringing about the calls I’d been getting. He mentioned that since I’m retired, I wouldn't need to pay anything. He asked for my name and address to confirm stuff, then started asking for my bank info, saying my number starts with a 4 and wanted me to say the rest. It felt like he already knew a lot about me but wanted me to verify it. That’s when I just hung up. The accent sounded like it might’ve been Indian or Pakistani.

Had about half a dozen calls from this number by 2.30 pm today, dated 2nd September 2016. They kept insisting they'd put an end to these annoying calls but then asked me for my credit card info - seriously, did they think I was daft or what? I won’t say exactly what I told them, but trust me, you want to steer clear of this number and caller.

She asked for my name and address, which I gave her, then started pressing me for details about my bank card that I use to pay bills. She said it was to verify my identity, but when I asked her to tell me what she already had, she said she only wanted the long number on the front of the card, not the full account number. I refused and asked her to confirm the info she supposedly already had. Instead of explaining, she just said goodbye and ended the call. Felt a bit off, to be honest.

Got a couple of calls from this number today - total nuisance. They were trying to get my card info or something. I told them to back off, but they rang me again a few hours later. When I said I knew it was a scam, the woman on the line started making all sorts of weird noises, like she’d been caught out. I told her to piss off and stop bothering me. She shouted back, and I told her I’d report it to the police. After a bit of shouting, she just hung up on me. Dunno why she hung up, but I reckon I’ve got the upper hand. Not sure if they’ll call again later, but we’ll see what happens.

Got a call today, 10th August 2016, around 12:03 from what sounded like an Indian call centre. The bloke on the line claimed he was from some ‘telephone blocking team’ trying to stop annoying calls, but then he started throwing survey questions at me. Just tell them to jog on and hang up straight away. Definitely block the number.

Has anyone else been getting these weird calls? Mine come through both on my landline and mobile, they just stay quiet for a bit then hang up. It's really stressing me out, and I'm in my 70s, I really don't need the hassle. I wish there was a way to put a stop to it, it's just not on!
