So, I got a call from this number yesterday and then again today I decided to answer. The person said some direct debit was set up in Birmingham, asking if it was me. I said no and didn’t really give any info. I rang NatWest afterwards and they said it’s a scam, so yeah, best not to pick up or respond to this number at all.

I rushed in from digging in the garden and just caught the answerphone buzzing. Like always, the muppet at the other end just went ‘click’ and hung up. Honestly, wish I could get straight through to these time-wasters and trap them in the same loop with a mystery caller. Bet they wouldn’t enjoy that, huh?

I've heard them referred to as Hillside Services, a tracing and debt collection agency. They often send out letters without you asking and ring up pretending to be old friends or speaking for them, saying they want to get back in touch.
