got a call from a guy with an asian accent claiming to be from openreach about issues with my internet. i couldn't really catch what he was saying and after a short while, he just hung up. then it hit me, it was probably a scam since my internet's actually with bt. i've blocked the number now so hopefully won’t get any more calls from them.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming I was in a car crash that wasn't my fault. Totally fake, so I just blocked the number.

I got a call from some guy who said he was Alex from BT Openreach, sounded asian. This was the third time in a few days that someone had called me claiming the same, but all with different numbers, like they were all reading the same script or summat. I told him straight up to stop ringing me. After that, he actually threatened me, saying they’d just keep calling non stop, day and night. Proper annoying and a bit scary tbh.

Be careful not to give out any details to these callers. They try to get you to let them into your computer and then steal your bank info from it. I haven't gone through it myself, but saw a news story about it recently. They rang me today too, but as soon as I asked some questions, they just ended the call.

I just got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, sounded like she was in a busy call centre with noise all around. She wanted me to download some software onto my computer. The creepy part was she already knew my name and which internet provider I use (TalkTalk). The call came from a UK number, 01479 574632. Feels like my info’s been leaked somehow. TalkTalk, can you please clarify what’s going on?

another call came in about an hour later but this time it was just dead silence on the other end, which i believe is illegal. honestly, something needs to be done to put an end to this. i have unwell family members and every ringing phone makes me anxious. loads of folks end up trusting these scammers and handing over cash or personal details, it’s really unfair the uk officials barely do anything to shield the vunerable people from these con artists.

Got a call on my landline from a bloke with an overseas accent saying something about my internet. I stayed quiet and he hung up straight away. He was calling from a number in Grantham, I think.

This is the fourth time ive had a call in just three days, now from 01476596566. They claimed to be Openreach again, saying my internet provider had reported issues with my connection. I told them I wasnt buyin it and called them out as a scam, then they just hung up. Surely the fraud squad needs to step in and put a stop to this soon.

I got calls twice from this number today and also from 01582766218, both times they said something about my BT not working properly or some issue like that. The first lady who called sounded Asian and said her name was Rita. The other calls were from a man calling himself John. These names just seem a bit dodgy to me.

Had a call from a bloke saying his name was Kevin, claiming it was about my BT Openreach internet. Felt dodgy since I don’t even have BT internet and his name sounded made up. Let him go on for a while but stopped replying, then he just ended the call. Sorted him out with a block.

Received a couple of phone calls from this number today. The first was an African-accented lady claiming there was an issue with my computer's internet connectivity. I clearly expressed my disinterest and ended the call. Shortly after, a chap with an Indian accent rang me up, asserting he was from Openreach and warned me they would be disconnecting my internet for a fortnight due to some messages allegedly being sent from my router. When I pressed him to identify my internet provider and he failed to do so, I swiftly hung up.

I received a rather dubious call from a chap with a distinctly Indian accent claiming to be from Openreach. He informed me that they would be cutting off my internet for a whole 25 days. The call was surrounded by the usual chaos of a call centre in full swing. Naturally, I was quite taken aback and questioned him, especially since my brother-in-law is employed by Openreach and hadn’t mentioned anything about disruptions in our area. Before I could get a straight answer, he simply terminated the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I got a call from this number claiming to be from BT, stating that my broadband was about to be switched off for 25 days. When I mentioned that I was struggling to comprehend what he was saying, he dropped a terrible insult. I promptly contacted BT, who informed me it was a scam. They then set me up with call protect service at no cost!

I received a call from an Indian gentleman regarding my BT broadband speed, claiming it was underperforming. He asked me to visit the W3C Validator and input my email address. Lo and behold, it returned with a plethora of errors and warning messages. When I expressed my doubts about the legitimacy of the call, he proceeded to alarm me by stating that my computer and personal details were vulnerable to hackers. I politely said I’d confer with my husband about this alarming situation, and just like that, the call ended abruptly! How frustrating! >:-(
