Just got a recorded message claiming to be from TalkTalk saying our broadband will be cut off unless I press 1 to talk to someone. I'm pretty sure they’re trying to scam me, as there’s no way my internet is actually getting switched off today, right?

Got a call from some bloke with an English name, but I could tell he was Indian - just trying to sound legit (what a numpty). He said he was from BT Openreach or something like that, working in some big call centre. Of course, all the usual nonsense about faults or weird stuff on my router or line. I just told him to jog on and blocked the number straight away. Total scam, no doubt about it. They want you to install software so they can nick info from your PC, tablet, or phone. Stay well away!
