My phone showed it was probably a scam, so I just let it ring out. I just don't pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, if it’s important, they usually leave a message anyway.

Got a call from these people claiming they were from Scottish Power. They seemed to already know loads about me which was quite odd. However, when I asked them to confirm the details of my last bill, they couldn’t provide any info - that’s when I realised it was a total scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas, wanting to check my address and meter details. I didn’t share anything and ended the call. Then they rang me again immediately, repeating the same questions. The voice had a weird pause and didn’t sound like it was really from around here in Scotland!

Some bloke called saying he was from BT after asking me about my meter number. I told him to check my bill on his end since that’s what he wanted me to do. Then he started cursing in some language I didn’t recognise and just cut me off.
