So basically, they ring you up saying you’ve been in some kind of accident or traffic incident. I told the person on the phone that I’m with Action Fraud and they just ended the call straight away! The whole scam is about making you pay loads of times using things like iTunes vouchers, Western Union, or MoneyGram if you want ‘compensation’. But in the end, you’re left with nothing.

This number seems to be solely dialled by folks in Inverclyde, as it’s an obscured one disguised with a local area code designed to make you believe it’s a legitimate call, luring you into picking up. In truth, it’s just another lowlife scammer wasting your precious moments. Honestly, these types ought to be dealt with harshly for the nonsense they put us through!

I saw the number pop up and it looked like it was from my area, so I picked up thinking it might be a mate. Nope, just some life insurance salesman going on about how I need better coverage or whatever. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
