9 yearsI received a call from a woman with a foreign accent on this number. She claimed there were issues with my computer and requested that I visit www.teamviewer.com to allow her to remotely fix the problems. Feeling a bit suspicious, I decided to do a quick online search and had a chat with someone from their support team, who confirmed it was indeed a scam. What a relief I didn’t fall for it!9 yearsI received a rather dubious call from a woman with a thick accent who claimed there were faults on my computer. She insisted on gaining remote access to my laptop to sort it out. I let her have it, giving her a piece of my mind, before promptly disconnecting the call!9 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were with openreach. Since I used to be with them, I asked a simple question and they just ended the call when they couldn't answer. Definitely felt dodgy.Openreach9 yearsI got a call from someone talking all weird about an IP address and internet stuff, couldn't really make sense of it, so I just hung up.9 yearsI always try to screen who calls me, but these scam calls still manage to be such a pain!9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with BT in London, said all internet providers go through them even if you have a different one. Wasn’t too sure so I decided to test him since he said he was local. Asked who the mayor of London is and he nailed it, which was a bit surprising. Then I asked about the Prime Minister, he said David Cameron - that’s when I lost it and gave him a bit of a telling-off before I ended the call.BTLondonDavid Cameron9 yearsGot a call from a lady asking all these weird questions about my router, like how many lights were on it and stuff. I wasn’t doing anything, so I played along, but out of nowhere she just ended the call. Guess I said something that put her off!9 yearsClaimed to be from BT/Openreach, talking about an issue with my router. Just to clarify, I'm a Virgin Media customer!BTOpenreachVirgin Media9 yearsI received a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from my internet provider. When I mentioned that I didn’t have an account with them, she abruptly hung up on me. Quite odd, really!9 yearsSo this lady, sounded asian and said her name was Jennifer, rang me up saying there was some accident at the bt exchange nearby and the fibre optic cable got damaged. Before I could even say I wasn’t gonna let her use team viewer or that she was clearly trying to scam me - especially since I don’t even have a bt line - she just cut the call. Honestly, that was pretty rude! Normally, I can keep them going for a good twenty minutes and really wind them up.Jennifer9 yearsTotal scam, just ignore it and hang up straight away. Even better, block the number so they cant call again.9 yearsSo this guy with a funny accent rings me up and just outta nowhere calls me a ‘mother f##er’ - cheers for that!9 yearsGot a call from a lady with an asian accent, spouting the usual rubbish, trying to frighten me into putting TeamViewer on my computer so she could sneak in and take control remotely. Typical scam stuff.TeamViewer9 yearsHad this woman from Eastern Europe calling me, going on about switching my computer on?! Honestly, these scammers are just ridiculous. How stupid do they think we are? Absolutely pathetic.9 yearsGot a call from some asian lady pretending to be from BT, but she suddenly ended the call as soon as I mentioned that an asian bloke rang me about 20 minutes earlier, also saying he was from BT. He used the number 01216461280 and told me my BT internet, which I dont even have, would be switched off for a week if I didnt act. I could barely catch what he was saying and asked him a couple of times to speak louder but then he just hung up. I wasn’t convinced anyway, there were loads of people chatting in the background. Then around 15 minutes later, a woman rang me from 01421584637 with the same noisy background, claiming she was from BT’s IT department regarding the same broadband issue. When I told her I thought it was a scam, she disconnected straight away.BT9 yearsGot a call in London from someone claiming to be BT. He told me there was an attempt to hack into my computer and asked me to switch it on. The bloke knew where my local exchange was, my address, my partner’s name, and then wanted my date of birth. He sounded like a polite young Indian chap. Bit sad for the guy, mustn’t be easy doing this job, but I also feel bad for anyone who ends up sharing more info with these lot.BTLondonIndiaSubmit Your Own Report (01474 957543)
