I got a call from a lady saying she was from TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with our router. My partner instantly guessed it was dodgy, so she asked for their phone number to check. As soon as she did that, they just hung up the call. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from a lady named "Jennifer" with a strong Indian accent, claiming to be from TalkTalk. She asked if my internet had been acting up, saying they detected loads of errors from my router. I instantly recognised the usual scam spiel and told her to stop lying and not to ring me again. She insisted she was telling the truth, but after reading other comments here, I’m pretty sure I was right to be suspicious! Earlier, I also had a silent call from 01263 402788 with no message left on my answerphone, so it seems like these dodgy calls are definitely linked.

I don’t pick up when the answerphone says calls are recorded, especially from numbers I don’t recognise. It usually makes them hang up quicker, though it doesn’t stop other similar unknown numbers from calling again.

Loads of calls from 01243 402788 yesterday, ignored them all. Prob just spam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk, telling me my router was having issues and throwing loads of errors. He then asked me to open a command prompt and type ASSOC, which shows all the file type associations on your PC. He read out a number from that list and asked me to confirm it was right to prove he was legit. When I asked him to confirm a number from his side, the call just cut off.

Got a call from this number about 9:40 in the morning. Lately I’ve been ignoring calls and letting them go to voicemail, which has really cut down on the scams I get. I almost picked up this one but decided not to - reading the comments here, I’m glad I didn’t. The call dropped just as I was finishing leaving a message.

Got a call from a blocked number, just silence on the other end. Bet it was one of those 'Talk Talk engineers' again! Blocking doesn’t seem to stop them at all.

Got a call from this number earlier but when I answered no one was there. I also had a call from 01263402788 today, which I noticed is listed on here. Seems like those two are connected, like the person before me said. Definitely the same lot ringing me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk, but I told them I don’t use their services anymore. Then they went on saying they could hook me up with Sky, Virgin, or BT instead. This is the second time today I’ve had a call like this, supposedly from TalkTalk, but the number was different from the earlier one. Just ended the call straight away.

They didn’t say anything when they called, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Today I’ve had loads of calls from a number this site marks as ‘dodgy’ - 01263402788 - so maybe it’s the same person but using a different phone number. If they won’t leave a voicemail, I’m not answering any calls from numbers I don’t know anymore. It really annoys me that folks make a living like this.
