This morning, I got a call from a woman speaking with a foreign accent, using this number, saying she was from BT. She told me to look at my emails because apparently my IP address was being used by others. I told her I couldn’t check right then but would do it later. She asked if she could call me back, and I said I’d call her instead. I reckon she wanted me to reply to an email to get more info from me. I didn’t follow up though, as it seemed like some kind of scam.

I reckon this is a dodgy trick where they say they’ll cut down your monthly phone charges but really they're after taking over your account. They might go ahead and buy the priciest phone there is, then get it delivered somewhere that's not your home. So WATCH OUT, THIS IS A FRAUD. I came across this from a famous scam baiter, Jim Browning. He works hard to mess up these FRAUDSTERS.

This morning, I got a call from a woman with an accent I couldn’t place, using this number and saying she was from BT. She told me to check my email because apparently someone else was using my IP address. I told her I wasn’t able to do that at the moment and would look into it later. She asked if she could call me back, but I said I’d ring her instead. I suspect she was trying to get more info by having me reply to an email. I didn’t follow up, as it seemed like a scam to me.

Didnt answer it but thankfully my phone blocked the call automatically. Then I got another call from a different dodgy number shortly after, ignored that one too. Later on, got a couple of texts from O2 - one about security stuff and another with a code to log back in. Looks like this number and 02080720131 were both trying to con me out of my O2 details.

BEWARE OF SCAMS! If you get calls from dodgy numbers, text their details to 7726. Any scam texts or WhatsApp messages should also be forwarded there. Doing this will alert your phone provider and mark the number as 'potential scam'. Just don’t report legit business numbers to 7726. Also, take screenshots of any scam messages and email them to the police at '[email protected]' to help with investigations. If the scammers managed to get your bank info, make sure to inform your bank and report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, as well as the police. Stay safe!

Yet another fraudster! Blocking them does nothing since they just ring from different numbers, so what’s worked for me is letting out a loud whistle straight into the phone.
