Funny how this number shows Ipswich where I’m from but they’re actually based near Bolton. The bloke even sounded quite northern, like me. Wasn’t bothered by the call, figured straight away he was trying to push extra insurance. When I mentioned it to him, we had a bit of a chuckle, but he was pretty decent about it. Honestly, even John Lewis does the same thing when you’re shopping in person.

Just like all the others, a really forceful sales call about insurance. I bought something from AO yesterday evening and got two calls this morning. They went on and on about some insurance plan and before I could even say no thanks, they said a payment WOULD start next month. When I said I wasn’t interested, they became really pushy, rude and quite aggressive. Really nasty people. They could easily take advantage of someone who’s not so sharp.

Got a call from AO trying to push insurance on a new fridge freezer I just ordered. They started off by taking the mick about how rubbish fridges can be, then suddenly launched into all this insurance stuff and mentioned payments starting December 2022. I said, “what payment?” and they said, “the insurance we’re offering.” Nah mate, I’m only interested in getting the fridge delivered, not paying extra. Best to steer clear of these calls, just a sneaky ploy to squeeze more cash out of you.

Got called like 10 times from this number. Picked up once yesterday, some woman claimed to be from AO.com, which is the place I just had stuff delivered from. Felt a bit dodgy, so I asked who he was, and he said "Matt." I wondered if he was the installer since I’d asked Ao.com for that, and he said yeah. But then he stopped, saying he couldn’t go on because I wasn’t comfortable with the security questions. When the gear arrived and the driver fitted it, I asked about Matt, but the driver said he’d never heard of anyone called Matt from Ipswich!
