After a brief silence, someone with an Indian accent answered and said he was "Jack" from Microsoft, talking about my Microsoft computer. It’s a common scam where they try to trick you into letting them access your PC, so they can install spyware and take control. Their real aim is to grab your bank info and steal your money. Stay alert - this is a classic fraud!

Got a call sayin’ there was some issue with me computer. I cut them off quick, but they rang back right away. Didn’t even let them get a word out this time before I hung up again. The number showed up as one from Ipswich, which isn’t too far from where I live, so I reckon it’s meant to look local to trick you into pickin’ up. And of all days, it was a bank holiday! What cheek!

Got a call from a woman named Mary Watson claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my computer was at risk. I had my doubts it was a scam, so I asked for her phone number and told her I’d ring back. She warned me that if I ended the call, they’d have to block my device to stop illegal stuff happening. I just ignored that and hung up. Then I decided to call the number back myself, but when I did, someone said it was BT. They wanted me to sit at my computer so they could assist, but I wasn’t having any of it and ended the call again.
