Got a call from someone claiming to be from a home appliance company, saying I was owed a refund. They rattled off the last 4 digits of a bank card they said was mine, but I knew it wasn't right. When I asked if they wanted my current card info, they said yes, so I jokingly gave them the expiry date and CVV. At that point, I told them straight up I’m no mug and to get lost. Ended the call while they kept pretending to be the real deal. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Someone calling with an Indian accent claimed to be from BT Openreach. He tried to explain there was an issue with my computer, but I couldn’t quite catch what exactly. It was around 10 in the morning when I picked up a call from what looked like a local number. At first there was nothing but silence, then I heard a bunch of background noise like a call centre, and a guy with an Indian accent started saying he was from Sky - which I was pretty sure was a scam. I’ve since blocked the number, but it’s strange how they’re now using local area codes to trick folks into picking up. Got a call from this number earlier today, 1st Sept 2023. The connection was awful, so I reckon it’s probably a spoofed line or something like that. Picked up the phone and after a short silence, a lady claimed she was ringing from Microsoft about my PC. It’s clearly a con, and honestly, you have to wonder what makes these idiots keep trying! Still, I guess there’s plenty of unsuspecting people out there who get caught by this rubbish.

Just got a call from some guy called Harry who spoke with an Indian accent. He claimed he was from BT, but when I told him “That’s not true,” he just ended the call. Never come across anyone like that before!

I’d really appreciate it if these individuals could cease their incessant phone calls pretending to be from Microsoft. It’s quite bothersome and their tone is inching towards the aggressive side.

I picked up the phone, nothing but silence on the other end. Then suddenly they said “bye” and just ended the call!

Seems like scammers are making the most of the Bank Holiday, maybe thinking we're all at home. I've had three calls already today, which is really frustrating since it's hard for me to get to the phone quickly. The numbers ringing me were 01512015683 and 01162126254.

Today, 28/8/23, at about 9.20 in the morning, my landline got a call from 01473328951. When I picked up, the only thing on the other end was heavy breathing, then they just cut the call. Definitely feels like a scam, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had issues. I asked which one since I’ve got around 20, and she just snapped at me to "Shut up" before hanging up immediately. What a ridiculous scammer!

No voicemail was left, so I reckon it's probably a scam.

Someone rang me asking for a relative who sadly died during the lockdown. I told them she had passed away three years back. The person then turned pretty sarcastic, but after a moment, they said 'sorry for your loss' and ended the call.

A lady with an Asian accent rang me a couple of days in a row, saying she was with BT Telecom about my internet. The second time I got her voice straight away, and she ended the call right away.

This morning, i got a call from someone who sounded like they were from an Asian background, pretending to be Virgin Media, our internet supplier. They were going on about our internet being at risk because of some damaged files and insisting they had to clear them off my computer. They said if I didn’t agree, they’d cut off our connection. The way they spoke was really unprofessional and seemed like they were just desperate to trick someone into falling for their scam. Thought I’d share this in case it helps anyone else.

I usually just let it ring out till the voicemail picks up, you know, after it rings as long as it's meant to. If it was important, they'd probs leave a message, right? 😉

Had a call again this week, the third time now, someone pretending to be from Virgin about some problem with my broadband. I told them I’d ring Virgin myself and then ended the call. It’s clearly a scam, but I can’t block the number since my blocked list is already packed! Just goes to show how often these dodgy calls happen. I hardly get any calls on my landline, which makes me even more wary. If only the mobile signal was better around here, I’d ditch the landline for good.

This has got to be a scam, the number just rings once and hangs up right away without leaving any message. It's really starting to get annoying.
