Got a call from a young woman who used my first name instead of Mr, which felt a bit unprofessional right away. She claimed to be calling from Ashford, but the number came up as Ipswich on my caller ID. After a bunch of small talk, she asked a pretty unclear question about my phone. I told her I thought she was pushing some phone service, but she flat out denied it. Then suddenly she said they could help us save 56% on our phone bills - so not a phone service after all? I kept insisting she was trying to sell phone stuff, but she just said she wasn’t selling anything. Got fed up and hung up. She seemed way too sure of herself considering how little she actually knew.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be Alex, but it seemed like a total scam. Definitely felt like a dodgy attempt to con me.

I got a call from someone named Alex who wanted to talk to James. When I asked why they were calling, Alex said he was getting back to James and would try ringing him on his mobile later. I told him I usually answer the phone while James is at work. Then Alex said he'd ring another time. When I pressed for more info, he got really rude. I asked what company he was with, and he just laughed and said there wasn’t any before hanging up. I've tried dialing that number back since, but it’s always busy.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with a firm named Connect, said they wanted to buy our little shop and post office in the village.
