Got this email today, total scam. It came from [email protected], and the sender said their name was Leuschke Elisha. Just a warning to everyone. The message was like: "GoldenGaze 169 Moonlit Canoe Ride😋👙🍌 You got a new pic from me in your messages. Woke up from a really vivid dream, feeling a bit lonely. Hoping for a surprise meetup." They also tried to get me to check their profile with some link. The email said it was sent from 1175 Elm Dr. Suite 4078, Franklin, PA, 66007. Be careful with stuff like this!

Today, I received a call on my mobile from 01473214800, which seemed local to Ipswich, so I answered. The guy on the other end was speaking really fast and immediately said, "this isn’t a cold call." My husband, who’d made an enquiry about car insurance before, took the phone and shouted quite clearly, “I’m not interested.” Then he passed the phone back to me, but the caller carried on talking about "saving money" and kept asking, "When’s your insurance up for renewal?" I tried to get him to stop and requested to speak with his manager, who said his name was Keith. The caller resisted, asking, “Why? Don’t you want to save money?” Eventually, after a pause, this Keith bloke came on. He was polite, said he was deleting our number straight away, apologised twice for the hassle and said he’d look into what had happened by listening to the call recording as all calls are recorded. I told him thanks and hung up. Not sure if this will actually stop them calling, so time will tell! - from someone dealing with a motor insurance firm.

Nowadays most smartphones have a feature to block numbers. I just don’t pick up if the number is unfamiliar, and if they call a second time but don’t leave a voicemail I simply block them. Easy as that! We also got a new home phone setup that stops all those annoying calls - it worked straight away once set up. If you ask the government to sort it, you’ll be waiting ages. The model we got is the BT8500, about £80 for a set of three from John Lewis and other shops. Seriously, grab one, sort it out, and enjoy some peace and quiet!

I’ve just secured a policy with them for around £500, and I’m a new driver under the age of 25!
