Got a call from someone saying he was Sylvester from BT, saying my router was being hacked or something. I told him I’d just hang up and ring BT myself to double-check. He then started going on about how the call was being recorded by BT and that Ofcom had been informed about issues at their tech team. I said I was ending the chat but he kept insisting it was a genuine BT call. Eventually, I just hung up. Later I rang BT myself, and everything was fine with my internet. I even dialled 1471 to see who had called, and this number popped up, but apparently it doesn’t exist. Weird.
