8 yearsgot a call on the morning of 28th nov 18 at around 9:56, an automated message saying my internet deal was ending that day. I’d only recently upgraded with bt about a month prior, so it was pretty obvious it was dodgy. they tried to make me press loads of buttons, probably to get me chatting with the scammers. I just ended the call straight away, reported it to bt, and then blocked the number using bt call protect. interestingly, the automated voice sounded american this time.BT8 yearsHe called asking to talk to someone he thought lived here, but refused to say his name or the reason for calling. I just ended the call.8 yearsthis number keeps ringing me but they never bother to leave a message or anything.8 yearsi just let the phone ring out without saying anything when i pick up the landline. done this for a week now and haven't had a single scammer actually talk. reckon loads of these calls use voice recognition, coz i don't have caller ID so gotta pick up, but i find it funny knowing they’re just wasting their time. if this is benefits uk calling, they've been hassling me for like 3 years on loads of different numbers now.BenefitsUK8 yearsThis number called my mum and tried to get her bank info. She didn’t share anything, thankfully, but it was clearly a scam trying to trick her!8 yearsGot a call from 1010 earlier today, someone with an Asian accent talking about benefits. Ended up just hanging up.8 yearsim getting loads of calls from this number asking for my mum, when i tell them shes not around, they keep asking if im family. i just ask what they want, then they say they’re from benefits uk doing some kind of survey about appliances and who supplies your gas, electric and phone. i reckon they use that info to ring back pretending to be your service provider or a warranty company for stuff like your tv or washing machine. so my advice is don’t answer their questions, don’t confirm your name or address. i don’t share anything but they just keep phoning. really annoying!Benefits UK8 yearsI kept asking who was calling, even tho he already knew my name right. Then he just swore at me, called me a 'mother#####er' and slammed the phone down on me at about 8.53 in the morning.8 yearsEarly morning around 8:53, I got a call from someone with an Asian accent asking me to verify my information.8 yearsGot another call from an asian woman claiming to be from 'benefits uk'. They always say the same thing - just answer a couple of questions and they won’t bother me again. Yeah, right! We keep blocking the numbers when they ring but new ones keep popping up. I make sure not to get pulled into their spiel, cos I’m pretty sure they’re after cash. Bet that’s their game!Benefits UK8 yearsAnother call from someone with an Asian accent - do these folks not hold real jobs? Today it was a woman claiming to be from ‘Benefits UK’, saying if I just answered a couple of questions, they’d never phone me again. Yeah, right! We keep blocking the numbers as they pop up, but more keep coming from all sorts of new ones. I’m careful never to let them get too far into their spiel to see if they’re after cash. Pretty sure that’s exactly what they want.BenefitsUK8 yearsGot another call from somewhere in Asia - seriously, don’t these people have real jobs? This time a woman claiming to be from ‘Benefits UK’ rang me up. As usual, she said if I just answered a couple of questions, they wouldn’t bother me again. Yeah, right! We’re blocking each number as it comes through, but it’s nonstop with new ones popping up all the time. I’m careful not to let them get too far; don’t want to find out if it’s some scam trying to get cash out of me.BenefitsUK8 yearsThis number keeps calling all the time but when I answer, there's nothing said. Just silence, so I’ve blocked it now as it’s getting really irritating.8 yearsGot a call from this number but no one left a message, no clue who it is. I've gone ahead and blocked it now.8 yearsthe moment I picked up, they just clicked off. these days we mostly rely on our mobiles so our home phone rarely rings. which means when dodgy calls come through, they really catch your attention. even though I’m signed up with the telephone preference service, I’ve seen a sharp rise in such calls recently. the numbers change a lot, but they either hang up right away or ask for someone who doesn’t even live here.Telephone Preference Service8 yearsI've been getting loads of calls from someone asking for a Mr Allen, but there’s never been anyone by that name living here. Every time I try calling back, nobody picks up. Whenever I ask who it is, the caller just hangs up straight away.AllenSubmit Your Own Report (01472 346520)
