This number has called me twice this week. Honestly, I don’t mind it, I find it kinda fun. I like to mess with them a bit, pretending to be easy to fool, just to keep the convo going for as long as I can. They’re the ones spending money on the call anyway. Some bloke with an Asian accent called himself "Roger" from the "Windows Technical Department" and hung up when I questioned him about viruses on my PC, pointing out Microsoft doesn’t just ring people out the blue. Ironically, I was just telling a mate earlier today how I hadn’t had any of those spam calls for a couple of weeks, then "Roger" slammed back in with his dodgy scam.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, going by Carol Wilson. She claimed to be from the TPS, and I told her straight up, "I know this is a scam, so I’m blocking you." I hit #2 to trigger the call blocker, and I swear I heard her begging before the call cut off. Alexander Graham Bell would probably be quite upset knowing his invention is mostly just a pain nowadays. The call blocker does do the job, but these firms just keep changing their numbers every few months.

This number has rung me up loads of times, proper annoying. They talk in terrible English and pretend they're from Windows or sometimes the so-called telephone preference service - what a joke. Whenever they ask me to spell my name, I always say I'm Mr Mickey Mouse. Honestly, they're a right pain, and I swear, I'd love to see them stopped for good, like putting them on blast for everyone to see!

I've been getting loads of calls from 0146764309 and 001883709532 lately. They seem to be from overseas, maybe India or somewhere similar, and the stories they tell are all over the place - stuff about computer viruses and other nonsense. One day I counted, and they rang me 8 times, each time trying to get different personal details out of me. Honestly, I wish there was some way to stop these annoying calls for good!

Got a ring from this number earlier today, saying there was some problem with my PC, but I don’t have it here ‘cause it’s at work. They claimed they owed me a refund and wanted my bank info to sort it out. I told them they already had it. Then they asked me to switch on my computer so they could put the money through. I said I would, but like I said, the PC wasn’t here with me. They went on saying they could see my screen from their end, but nothing was happening on mine. Obviously they couldn’t actually see anything because the computer was at my workplace, but I just played along. In the end, I just told them to keep the refund, I wasn’t bothered. Didn’t give them any details either. They left me alone for about eight months, but then the calls started up again. Now, I just hang up when they ring. Next time they call, I’ll do the same thing I did before so they leave me in peace.

So this morning about 8:15, I got a call from a really polite Indian lady saying she was from some firm that deals with stopping those annoying overseas nuisance calls. I told her I don’t get any, but she insisted I did. Honestly, it felt like she must’ve been in my house answering my phone for me! Then she claimed I had actually signed up with them already and wanted me to confirm my details. I told her since she called me, I didn’t need to prove who I was. She kept pushing me to verify my identity though, so I said just post me the info as you already have my details. That made her lose her temper and kept insisting I had to verify. So I just told her no, and told her to jog on, then hung up. I checked with 1471 and it turns out this number called me about 3 weeks ago pretending to be BT, again asking for my info. Seriously, something needs to be done about these people - imagine how many give away their details without realising and end up getting scammed!

This morning I got a call from 01467 646309. I picked up thinking it was genuine, but it turned out to be one of those annoying calls where the person claimed to be from Windows. Its a relief to see I’m not the only person getting these calls - they often show as International numbers with no area code. Other times it’s a withheld number, which is really frustrating since my GP’s office also calls from a withheld number.

If I can’t find anything, I might ring back depending on the number. I never call back to North America/Canada or other 00 1 numbers though. Appreciate the info others shared, it’s good to know it’s nobody I’m familiar with (I did have mates there years ago). :)

Said he was from the Windows support team. I kinda went along with it and this guy with an Indian accent told me to open the event viewer and check errors and warnings. Then he wanted me to log in to some site called [#]fastsupport[###], which I reckon if I'd kept going, they would’ve gotten remote access to my computer to mess around or nick sensitive info. Judging by all the comments here, these lot are proper scammers running different cons all day.

Some bloke with the name James Smith, who sounded Indian, rang me up claiming to be from the Windows support team. He wanted me to get on my computer so they could give me a code to enter. I told him I wasn’t touching my computer and I’d ring up Windows myself. I had a run-in with this lot last year. The number they wanted me to ring back was 020 358 27342. They bothered me again just last week too. I had enough and told them exactly where to go and not to bother ringing me again.

They hang up straight away, then later on, maybe a few hours after, they call again claiming to be from Microsoft Windows. Their accent is so hard to get that I can hardly understand a word. I tell them I don’t own a computer and they just drop the call. Then, they ring again about 5 in the evening, doing the same thing. It’s honestly so annoying and they don’t seem to care at all. Something should really be done about this, especially with so many people complaining!

Got a call from someone claiming to be TPS, saying my registration was due to run out. There was a pause then a computer voice and then a strong Nigerian accent came through. They knew my name and address, likely down to some awful car crash list. I asked him to give me his office location, which street it was on. He replied 'Berkshire'. So, I asked again for the road name. Then, BOOM, he hung up. Tried ringing back but the number didn’t exist. Suspicious af!

Got a call today from a bloke with an Asian accent. He asked if I got a £200 refund on my Visa card and told me to check online. I asked which card he meant and he said Barclays. I told him I don’t have a Barclays card, so he must have rung the wrong number. Then he just ended the call.

I told him straight up I knew it was a scam, said I was recording the call, then hung up fast. I’m sure some folks might fall for it though. I got a call from someone saying they were from Windows and told me there was a big issue with my PC. I told them I had already seen the warning on my screen and ran a McAfee scan, which came up clean. They then said McAfee doesn’t work. I asked them to send me an email to prove it was legit, but they said they couldn’t and then just ended the call. These kinds of calls should be shut down for good.
