The voice on the other end struck me as rather juvenile, probably a schoolboy of around 12. He claimed he was calling regarding some government-subsidised loft insulation we supposedly had fitted. However, I'm certain we’ve never received any sort of financial aid from the government for such work. I couldn’t shake off the impression that it was a con, especially when he abruptly cut the line as soon as I expressed my doubts. Quite telling, if you ask me!
