Got calls from this number and a couple others around 6 or 7 times today. They kept claiming to be from the telephone preference service, which is obviously not true. Feels like a proper scam and quite annoying!

The Gretna area code is 01461444, and for ages now, I’ve been getting loads of calls where the last three digits keep changing but no one ever picks up. Out of nowhere, a new number rings and it’s always someone named Edwin or Harry, sounding all friendly offering to help with these annoying calls. Seriously, I can't believe how many folks fall for it, it's only helping these scammers stay active.

April Fools was well and truly over, but evidently some people just can’t let it go! On 4th April 2018 at 7:02pm, some bloke rang me pretending to be from BT claiming they could help with annoying calls. Honestly, just dialling 1471 works better. The numbers to watch out for are: 01461 - 444026, 444076, 444018. Total scam, sounded like some bloke with an Indian accent who’s been taught by some other muppet. Absolute rubbish. Best to be polite but stern, in whatever way you like.

Been getting calls from this number loads today, even though it's blocked on my phone, 9 times so far! It just rings and rings, and when I tried calling back, it said the number doesn’t exist. Proper annoying and feels like harassment. The number is 01461444081.

Got a call from a guy who said he was Tom and claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service, sounded like he had an Indian accent. He asked if I’d been getting any scam calls. When I said I'd only had one lately, which was the one I was answering then, he seemed a bit annoyed. I've dealt with calls like this before - they try to convince you to buy some gadget that supposedly blocks scam calls. Don’t be fooled - it’s definitely a con!

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent, sounded Asian, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He started blabbing about my address and credit card details - total scam alert. I played along and said I was just the gardener, then told him I'd need to go get the owner from up 12 flights of stairs. Left the phone off the hook for about 5 minutes. Got a call from someone talking about the telephone preference scheme or summat, accent sounded like it might've been Indian but hard to catch what they were saying. They mentioned nuisance calls so I told them they were exactly one of those and just put the phone down. Since then, I’ve had 9 calls from a number ending in 001 and 3 more from one that finishes with 018.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the telephone preference service. They asked me to verify my name, address, and phone number. Then they mentioned my debit card supposedly expired in 2019, which seemed fishy to me. I played along and said yes, it might be. He then asked if I could fetch my card to check while he waited. I said sure and left the phone next to the TV speaker so he could hear the celebrity quiz show playing. After a while, I heard him saying “hello, hello” a few times over nearly 10 minutes before he hung up. Guess he wasn’t much of a fan of that show!
