Got a call claiming to be from EE offering some sort of loyal customer discount for the next couple of years. When I asked what the deal was he just said my monthly fee would be way less than the £40 I’m supposedly paying! But I actually only pay £9 a month right now! Then he asked for my email to send a confirmation. Told him EE already has my email and just hung up. Pretty clear this was a scam.

Someone rang saying they were from O2, then said they were just promoters offering cheap deals but wouldn’t tell me the company’s name. I’ve heard loads of bad stuff about them on Radio 4’s Moneybox - people get stuck in long 18-month contracts with awful terms, and the only way out is with hefty fines, sometimes hundreds of quid, I even heard one case where it was £3,000. Honestly, steer well clear of them.

The number was unfamiliar to me so I chose not to pick up. Since there was no voicemail left, I'm guessing it was just another spam call.

Best just to ignore them, they're always spam.
