I received a phone call today featuring a recorded voice in an American accent, claiming there had been an unauthorised withdrawal of £600 from my Visa card, supposedly made from overseas within the last quarter of an hour. The message instructed me to press '1' to acknowledge, but it failed to mention either my bank’s name or any personal details, which set off alarm bells. I can't shake the feeling that this is a scam. The call came through on the 11th of July, 2019, around twelve-fifteen, while I was in the West Midlands.
