Loads of calls keep coming through from 01455 numbers and I normally pick up since it's the code from around here. But turns out, some firms buy up these numbers. I looked into one that seemed to be from Glasgow but had a Hinckley area code, probably to fool people into taking out insurance or some other dodgy offer. Really seems a bit fishy, so watch out!

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to work for a telecom firm, saying they could cut down my phone bills. Been getting loads of calls like this lately, all from different numbers. This time it was a local number so I picked up. Looks like I’m the first one to leave a comment here. Do these companies just grab UK numbers and then ring only local numbers to sound legit?
