Now, I’ve had the experience of receiving a call from this unknown number, and I can say for sure it’s a scam - especially since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which should make these unsolicited calls a big no-no. If you manage to find out the name of the company, they could face hefty fines reaching six figures! Businesses are not permitted to call numbers registered with TPS (check them out at WWW.TPSONLINE.ORG.UK). You can register both mobile and landline numbers, and it usually takes about a month to get everything sorted. The only companies permitted to reach out to you are those with whom you’ve previously transacted, and from whom you haven’t asked for your details to be removed.
