13 yearsEarlier today, we received a call from this number, and I ended the conversation abruptly. They called again immediately, but I chose not to pick it up. Now, our landline has gone completely haywire- no outgoing or incoming calls are possible. I’m left wondering whether this is merely a coincidence or something more sinister!13 yearsJust moments after receiving a call where the number was withheld, and they hung up right as I asked for a message to be left, I received another call from this same number. The caller disengaged before I could pick up, and when I attempted to return the call, it informed me that the number could not be recognised. Typically, when strangers ring me, I like to probe them about computers, especially if they mention Microsoft Windows. It's worth noting that even in India, it's against the law to assert that they’re phoning from Microsoft, so they cleverly just refer to it as Windows. With a bit of time on my hands, I decided to humour the caller while I started up my computer and logged in. He then asked me to hit some function keys, which led to his mounting irritation when I told him nothing was working. It seemed to dawn on him after a while that my version of Windows wasn’t from Microsoft at all, and he promptly ended the call.IndiaMicrosoft13 yearsThis number is definitely a fraudulent operation based out of India. They're attempting to con you into handing over cash under the guise of safeguarding your business. Best to waste their time as much as possible, then hit them with a firm rebuttal!India13 yearsI reckon this is nothing but a con. I’ve devised a couple of tactics to deal with these calls. For instance, I pretend I can’t hear a word they’re saying and ask them to ring me back. More often than not, they return the call in about half a minute, and I just let it ring away. Alternatively, when they ask for me by name, I’ll say, “Just a moment, I’ll fetch him,” and then I leave them in a bit of a limbo until they grow weary and hang up. My philosophy is simple: while they’re fiddling around with me, they aren’t bothering someone else.13 yearsI received a call from this number, and I have a strong suspicion that it’s a scammer on the other end.13 yearsI had a rather amusing encounter with a prankster this afternoon, ringing from this number. In the mood for a chuckle, I chose to humour him for a spell. He claimed to be from the “technical support” team and mentioned something regarding “the computer.” Naturally, I thought, “Here we go,” anticipating the usual drivel about some made-up viruses. When I cheekily asked, “Which computer are you on about?” the line abruptly cut off. What a let-down! Some callers can't even muster a bit of wit. You’d think they’d at least try to entertain with their utter cluelessness.13 yearsJust had a call that went silent-ended up hanging up after around ten seconds of nothing.13 yearsSome bloke from abroad really struggled to get our name right, so I thought it best to give him a proper earful of a Gary Barlow tune blaring on the radio.Gary Barlow13 yearsI got a call from a foreign woman using this number, chatting about some dodgy computer software vulnerabilities. The moment she realised we weren't buying into her spiel, she hung up rather quickly.13 yearsIs there anyone out there who's been getting calls from this number?13 yearsReceived a ring that was entirely devoid of sound. It carried on being silent even after a good couple of minutes had passed.Submit Your Own Report (01454 273387)
