Received a recorded message in an automated American accent, claiming to be from the technical department of TalkTalk. It warned me that my internet provider was on the verge of disconnecting my service. I was instructed to press 4 if I wished to speak to an engineer. Quite suspicious, I must say!

Absolutely a con – steer well clear! If you happen to pick up, just hang up straight away, as they're well-known for their dodgy tactics.
