I had a rather peculiar phone call yesterday concerning an industrial claim. Honestly, I wasn’t paying much attention and ended up telling the woman I hadn’t the foggiest idea what she was on about before I hung up. Then today, I got another call from 01451504616 asking about updating some so-called industrial ID index, claiming I’d been employed in a factory ages ago. I firmly told her I’d never set foot in a factory in my life, and she abruptly disconnected the call. Looking back, I wish I’d probed a bit more-next time, if it happens again, I definitely will. Both numbers seemed rather familiar, which is why I picked up in the first place.

I picked up the phone since it looked like a local call, but the woman’s voice immediately gave away that she wasn't from around here. She claimed to be from some place called ID Clinic, supposedly updating local records. They mentioned something about me having a background in an industrial setting, which seemed like a complete stab in the dark - absolute nonsense if you ask me. I informed her that my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which means they're not allowed to call me like this. I told her to bugger off.

Quite baffling, if you ask me-how on earth did they get that information? Plus, it’s utterly incorrect. They appeared rather flustered when I started probing into their intentions.

I decided to pick up a call from this number since it was a local one. The caller began by suggesting that I could claim compensation from the government due to exposure to loud noises throughout my career. I mentioned that I’d spent my working days on switchboards in hospitals, which could fit the bill, and just like that, they completely lost interest! Now I'm curious about how they got hold of my phone number in the first place. Quite the mystery, isn't it?
