Got a call from someone saying they were from some third party insurance firm about a car accident. I ended up hanging up, then tried calling the number back, but they just dropped my call.

Curiosity piqued, I pressed for details about the reason for their call, to which they vaguely referred to an accident he’d supposedly been involved in. When I probed further, asking when this incident took place, they claimed it was within the last three years but couldn’t provide any specifics or exact dates. I'm beginning to suspect it might be some kind of scam, yet the fact that the call came from a local area code made me uneasy. How on earth do they acquire this kind of information?

i picked up the phone and they just ended the call right away! so frustrating and totally unwanted. i've blocked the number now.

A fella with a Scouse number just rang me up, knew my name and all. He claimed he had some info about a wee incident I had over the last three years. I quizzed him if he was associated with those firms that siphon off a hefty portion of insurance claims. He assured me he was merely checking that I was in the loop. I told him I’m completely covered and if anything should crop up, my insurers will handle it for me.

This morning, I received a call regarding an accident that, quite frankly, I’ve never even experienced. When I responded with, "that’s utter nonsense," they assured me they’d remove me from their list. Quite ridiculous, really.
