Got a call from someone saying they were from some third party insurance firm about a car accident. I ended up hanging up, then tried calling the number back, but they just dropped my call.

Someone called asking for my partner by his name. I told them he wasn’t around right now. They mentioned they’d call again later. Curious, I asked what the call was regarding. They said it was about an accident he’d been in. I then asked when that was, and they said anytime in the last three years but couldn’t give me any specific date or info. It felt like a dodgy scam, but what threw me was the call came from a local number, the same area code as my mobile. How the heck do these people get such details?

i picked up the phone and they just ended the call right away! so frustrating and totally unwanted. i've blocked the number now.

Got a call on my phone from a bloke with a Scouse accent, and he already knew my name. He claimed he had details about me being in a small accident sometime in the last three years. I asked straight if he was from one of those firms that rip you off by taking loads from insurance claims. He said he was only ringing to check if I was aware of what I’m doing. I told him I have full insurance and a company that handles everything for me if anything ever happens.
