Got a call today from 01452 447682, some automated voice claiming to be from my bank (didn’t say which one) saying there were a few suspicious transactions on my account and to press 1. I hung up straight away, sounded really dodgy!!!

I didn’t pick up. They never left a voicemail. If it was Fasthosts, I’ve never had any contact with them and I’m not interested in whatever they’re offering. Good job I didn’t bother answering.

Didn’t manage to pick up. I usually check any missed calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Seems like it could be a proper call from Fasthosts since I bought a domain through them recently (probably just trying to sell me some hosting or something).

I dealt with FastHosts sales team. The company seems legit and all, but it’s all about pushing sales on you. They don’t even really get your okay for a sale, they just tell you about a plan and if you seem interested, they go ahead and charge you (in my situation, it was three times the price they first said).

From what I’ve learnt, never share any details with callers, unless you’ve dialled them yourself and are absolutely sure who they are.

A really nice guy named Phil from FastHosts rang me yesterday about an email upgrade. He also listened to some other problems I’m facing and tried to sort them out. When he couldn’t fix everything, he still gave me some good advice on what to do next. Cheers for the call, we definitely need more people like him around!

Got a call from fasthosts marketing team right after I’d set up my fasthosts email on a new laptop, so I was a bit wary straight away. Turned out it was just unlucky timing though. If the sales rep sees this, apologies for coming off a bit sharp 😅 They were pitching a spam and marketing blocker called hex2019, which sounds handy (bit ironic, I know). I’m not sure I’ll keep paying for it long term, but I’ll give the free trial a go for a month. So overall, it feels safe enough. Definitely marketing, but they passed my random security questions no problem 👍

Someone rang me saying they were from Fasthosts, where my two websites are hosted. They spoke quite fast, and I struggled to follow the whole spiel. They mentioned something about spam emails and a new server that some users would be moved to. They said I’d get an email with all the details, but it hasn’t turned up yet.
