Got a call from an unknown number, didn't pick up. Feels like it was probably some kind of scam. Really annoying how these calls keep coming!

Got a call from a lady with a southern accent - not your usual Gloucester type - warning me that fibreglass insulation can bother your lungs. Pretty sure that’s common knowledge now and everyone’s meant to wear masks when handling it. She tried to sell me a free loft survey but I wasn’t interested. Had to say no several times before she finally ended the call. She did say sorry for the interruption though. Feels a bit dodgy to me, maybe a scam.

I had no clue who was calling from this number and since they never left a voicemail, I looked it up here. After seeing the comments, I decided to block it. Big thanks to all the folks sharing their experiences here 😊

I asked who was calling, but got no answer and then they just hung up suddenly without saying a word.

I had an intriguing encounter with a woman purporting to be affiliated with the British Lung Foundation who was enquiring about our loft insulation. She asserted that both fibreglass and rockwool materials now carried a newly identified risk to lung health, presenting an enticing proposition for a complimentary survey to ascertain our eligibility for a government grant aimed at replacing them with a safer alternative. When I probed deeper into her claims, especially concerning rockwool-commonly regarded as less problematic compared to fibreglass-I requested some time to ponder over her proposition. Strangely enough, her enthusiasm seemed to wane, and she swiftly ended the conversation when it became clear I wasn’t ready for an immediate appointment. The lack of daunting pressure to secure a visit could imply that this was a genuine attempt to assist folks in accessing government help. However, I can’t shake the feeling that this is merely a façade for a scam operation. These tricksters appear to have refined their tactics, opting not to rattle the cages of seasoned individuals like myself, who might easily report their crafty schemes if provoked by relentless sales tactics. It seems they prefer to conserve their energy on what they deem to be a “hopeless case” to avoid early detection of their dubious activities. As with all unsolicited callers, whether through phone or on your doorstep, it’s always best to graciously decline their offers and hang up or shut the door. Reporting such instances is completely optional-more often than not, it's just another annoyance to brush off and forget.

Got a call from a number I didn’t know, no voicemail or anything. Just blocked it straight away.

Not sure who this number is. I was out so never answered, plus my husband doesn't usually pick up the home phone anyway.

They hung up before I could even say a word. Just threw their number straight onto my block list.

I have no clue who's ringing me. They usually phone a few times every week but never bother to leave any message. I just ignore and don't return calls from unknown numbers.

They gave me a ring earlier today, so I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

They just kept ringing and after looking them up on here I decided to block the number completely. Ignored all their calls before that.

Rang me at twenty-five to ten, but as soon as I picked up, they disconnected.

As soon as my voicemail started, the person on the line just dropped the call.

Got a call from this number a few times really early, but I never picked up since I didn’t know who it was. Looked it up here just now and decided to block it.

This number rang me up on my landline and then again on my mobile. Twice in total.

Received a call where there was only silence on the other end, they didn’t respond at all.

These scam calls never pick up when you try to ring back.

Didn’t get a message when the answerphone kicked in - total scammers, honestly.

There wasn’t anyone there when I picked up the phone.

Got a call from 01452473173 about fibre glass loft insulation. They said they were ringing for the British Lung Foundation. Felt a bit off to me.

Phone rang, I picked up but no one said a word before they just cut off. Such a waste of time - definitely looks like a scam to me. Watch out!

I got a call from a woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer, kept pushing about rockwool insulation. She said she was nearby for an appointment and claimed my insulation was outdated and might be dangerous for health. Definitely not a nice call, she was really pushy. Don’t let them bully you into anything.

Gave me a bell earlier today but didn’t bother to drop a message.

I attempted to ring this number again, but it appears to be disconnected. Quite clearly a scam, if you ask me.

No idea who it was. Picked up the phone but got cut off. They didn’t leave any message.

They didn’t even say hello or mention who they were from, just launched right into asking if I had fibreglass insulation in my loft because apparently the Lung Foundation says it might cause irritation. I just hung up, but I guess that might freak some people out.

I answered and waited about 10 seconds but nobody said anything.

Got loads of quiet calls, obviously just scammers. Straight to block!

If it’s a number I don’t know on my landline, I just don’t pick up. I only ring back if they’ve dropped a voicemail, otherwise I assume it’s probably a scam.

I have my phone set so that calls go straight to voicemail, and I always make them say who they are before I bother answering. As soon as my voicemail kicked in, the caller hung up.

I keep getting calls from these scammers who keep switching their numbers just to dodge the block I put on. They ring me on my mobile, then my landline, loads of times each day - it’s proper annoying and I reckon they’re dangerous if you end up sharing any info. The phone companies really should figure out who's faking numbers and put an end to it so innocent folks aren’t bothered. This kind of behaviour feels like the worst kind of harassment and fraud.

Someone actually answered and asked for my address, then was trying to figure out how old I am. Just a guess, but it felt a bit dodgy to me!

Got another call today from those loft insulation scammers. Earlier this morning, the number was 01733970728, but now they’re ringing from this Gloucester one instead. Proper annoying!

I've received a dodgy call regarding energy efficiency improvements for my home, and it feels like a scam to me. They seem keen to push for unnecessary work to be done!
