I received a rather unexpected call claiming I had won a discount card worth £400 along with some complimentary flights. Curiously, they then proceeded to ask for my bank information... very suspicious, I must say!

Just got a call from this number claiming to be from the postcode lottery. They told me I’d won a family holiday, £399, and some discount card. When I asked how they got my details and why I hadn't received any email about it, they suddenly just ended the call. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

I have a feature that tells me who’s calling, but this person hung up without saying anything. I've decided to block the number now.

I've had two calls from this number-one clocked in at 12:20 in the afternoon and the other struck at midnight. Quite odd, to say the least!

I got a call telling me I’d won a £400 discount voucher along with free flights. They then asked for my bank info to supposedly check who I was. They were quite pushy, but I didn’t fall for it as it seemed dodgy from the start. I reckon the call probably came from somewhere in Asia.

I got a call from a woman looking for someone who isn't at this address. When I asked who she was, she said she was Jennifer from the lottery department, then just cut the call off.

She told me it was some sort of postcode lottery and somehow my postcode had luck on its side (I don’t actually use that number so I just let her chat away). Apparently, I’d bagged £399 plus a discount card for half price shopping at Tesco, M&S and the like. She said they’d send £1 into my bank first to kick things off. I asked her to go over it again cause I wasn’t quite following, but then she just cut me off. Proper rude, honestly.

Got a call from a lady with an African accent, claimed to be ringing from London about a postcode lottery. She told me I’d won a discount voucher plus £399, but asked for just £1 to be transferred into my bank account to activate it. Creepy part was she knew my full name and address. When I refused to give bank details on the phone, she wanted me to email them instead. Wouldn’t answer any of my questions properly. I was sure it was dodgy right away, but stayed on the line to gather info and report it. Really scary how easily vulnerable folks could get caught out by something like this.

I received a rather curious call regarding an old PPI claim-one that I’ve never actually made. They mentioned that I was entitled to a refund, but they insisted on needing my bank details. They claimed they would deposit a pound to confirm my account and then send me a cheque, which I should expect in a couple of weeks. Suffice it to say, I decided against providing any of my personal information.

I received a call earlier where the person on the line was asking for my late wife, who passed away just over a year ago. It truly unsettled me, especially since they hung up before I had a chance to respond.

Received a message purporting to be from the lottery, stating that my postcode has won a discount card and a handsome sum of £399. They insisted I supply my bank details to process the transfer. Yeah, right! Not a chance, mate! I’m not falling for that nonsense!

I received a rather charming call from a young woman, likely of Asian descent, who spoke rather pleasantly. She mentioned something regarding a tax refund linked to a PPI claim and inquired as to how I preferred to receive the payment-be it by cheque or another method. The thing is, I did file a PPI claim previously, but it came to nothing and I wasn't compensated. I find it quite baffling that they would suggest a refund is forthcoming. To my surprise, she had not only my phone number but also my correct name and address. I requested that she send me a written confirmation with more details. Honestly, I'm inclined to believe this is a scam.

I received a call about my ex-husband, who hasn’t set foot in my house for over a decade. I informed the gentleman on the line that he no longer resides here, yet he brushed off my comments. Instead, he kept insisting he was with the Postcode Lottery, claiming I was “entitled” to some discounts on my purchases… Honestly, it was rather ridiculous, so I ended the conversation right then and there.

Received a call purporting to be from Aviva Life Insurance, requesting information about someone with a surname that isn't mine (they did at least manage to get my first name correct). When I informed them they had dialled the wrong number, they seemingly pivoted and inquired if I was wed to a chap named John, or if I had any acquaintances with various other names. It struck me as quite peculiar, and, without a doubt, this is a blatant attempt to fish for personal information under the guise of a legitimate inquiry.
