I used to have BT protect, but I disabled it since I was waiting for a call from someone not saved in my contacts. Just like others mentioned, they referred to two charges on my card and then tried to get me to press 1 and so on. It's really annoying that these useless scammers can't be blocked properly. They're likely just spineless cowards, preying on elderly people. So sad.

Absolutely not! It’s a total con! They claimed to be from my bank, saying my card (which I have several of across various accounts) had been swiped twice, adding up to £1,800. Can you believe it? Not a single penny was mentioned for those transactions. Once I heard, 'press one to speak to an advisor', I swiftly ended the call. Best decision ever!

It was one of those auto-dialer things, I ended the call right before they even started talking.

Just like some of the other posts here, I got a call claiming my card had been used without permission - and I do have a few cards. The moment she started babbling about pressing buttons and confirming stuff, I just ended the call!

Someone attempted to get hold of my mum’s debit card info in a bid to withdraw £700 from her account. They suddenly disconnected the call.

The moment I heard him say, “Good morning, madam,” I ended the call without hesitation. It seems like every time a conversation kicks off with those words, it’s only a matter of time before the caller spins some tale about my broadband being misused or my bank details being at risk. Honestly, if I were actually facing either dilemma, they’d be using my name, wouldn’t they? It’s the same old script, and I've had enough of it!

I received a rather dodgy automated call claiming there had been an unauthorised transaction on my debit card. They urged me to hit '1' if I wanted more information. Naturally, I refrained from pressing it, but I might just do so next time for a laugh. Knowing it’s all a con, I might as well have a bit of sport with them and see how long I can keep them on the line. After all, while I'm tying them up, that's one less person who could potentially fall for their trickery!
