The person on the other end had a strong Asian accent and kept saying he wasn’t selling anything, just wanted to ask me a few questions. It was really tricky to understand him since you could hear a lot of background noise, seemed like he was calling from a pretty busy call centre.

Looks like this is the Verso Group from what I’ve gathered here. Back in 2017, they got slapped with an £80,000 fine after it turned out they weren’t upfront about their intentions. They outsource to call centres across India, the Philippines, and North America to ring people for “surveys.” The info you give them about your lifestyle, money situation, and personal details gets shared around, which then leads to more unwanted marketing calls later on. Best steer clear of these lot!

Got a call today from an Asian guy claiming to be from VERSO, saying it was about a survey. I think VERSO is one of those companies that collects sales leads for power providers. Anyway, I just blocked the number.
