About a month back, I got a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media. The chap on the line insisted that my Wi-Fi had somehow been compromised and that he needed to sort it out for me. I hate to admit it, but I got caught hook, line, and sinker, and ended up downloading the "TeamViewer" software as instructed so he could 'fix' my computer. Of course, there wasn't anything wrong to begin with, and all he did was a bit of window dressing. He even dangled the idea of some cash compensation but stumbled when he insisted that I check my bank account to see if the money had been transferred. Naturally, when I refused to comply, he took it a step further and shut down my computer remotely as a form of retribution. A valuable lesson learnt, I must say! Since then, I've been on a mission, loading my system up with all sorts of free antivirus tools available out there. To everyone reading this: Virgin Media will never initiate a call about equipment issues. They’ll always expect you to be the one reaching out to them. It's vital to steer clear of "TeamViewer" as it's a risky application that gives scammers full control of your computer. Just two days ago, I received another call from them, but this time, not a peep was uttered. I decided to ring 1471 and got the number 01444891568. Has anyone got any tips on where we can report these crooks? It’s high time these scammers were held accountable and faced the consequences for their nefarious actions!

This morning I got a call from this number saying they were with Openreach. Earlier today, someone else rang me from an unknown number pretending to be BT. Both tried to convince me there was an issue with my broadband, but I told them to buzz off and stop trying to rip people off. It’s happening pretty much every day now, and they keep using different numbers.

Someone pretending to be from BT has been ringing all the different phones in our office but just ends up hanging up straight away.

Got calls from the same number twice within a couple of days, so I just blocked it.

Got a call this morning at 09:44. Didn’t pick up, it went straight to voicemail. The call ended pretty quickly after that.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying there was a fault on my line and no internet, right? So I told them, "you must be kidding me," and they said, "are you taking the mick?" Then I just said "wait and see". After that, they hung up but ended up ringing me back like three more times.

This number has rung me about half a dozen times today. The first time I picked up, no one spoke, so I looked the number up online and saw it was a scam. Now, I just let the phone ring and as soon as I answer, they hang up. Proper annoying and relentless!

This morning I got three calls from what seemed like scammers. Twice they pretended to be from BT Internet, and the other time there was nothing but silence. Best thing is to just ignore and hang up.

Got calls from this number like 5 times already, but nothing when I pick up, just silence. Honestly, I wish there was some kinda karmic punishment for folks who do this sort of annoying thing.

At about 3:10 in the afternoon, my phone went off. When I asked who it was, the person on the other end stayed silent and then just disconnected.

Just like loads of others, I got a bloke calling saying he was from BT. Honestly, the police need to start cracking down on these sorts of scams. It’s really upsetting to think about older people who might fall for this kind of rubbish.
