He mentioned that a woman on the other end introduced herself as being from BT, claiming, "Your broadband has been compromised, and we need to disable your service for 24 hours. You must contact either a technician or the server." Unfortunately, he couldn’t recall exactly which term she used. When my husband replied, expressing, "I don’t use the computer; it’s my wife’s," he asked her to hold on while he fetched me. At that point, he only heard the line go dead. Her voice had a clear English accent, spoken quite matter-of-factly. This number only rang once.
