I replied to a TV ad from Sightsavers by text. They then messaged back saying they'd call me and gave the number they'd ring from, so it seemed totally legit.

I got a call from sightsavers asking if I wanted to set up a direct debit for a charity I’d just seen on a TV advert. Surely it must be legit - I mean, the TV ad regulators wouldn’t let a dodgy charity be on telly, would they? No one in the comments has mentioned any trouble, so despite all the scams going around, I’m willing to give it a go.

I texted to make a donation after seeing a TV advert for Sightsavers, and they actually got back to me, which was nice. Didn't expect a reply, but they were friendly and thanked me for supporting their cause. Quite pleased with how they handled it!

They mentioned a company called Angel Fulfilment Services was handling the calls. It sounded genuine since it wasn’t a cold call exactly, but I still felt a bit dodgy about giving my info to them to set up the donation.
