a woman with a accent that wasnt quite english rang claiming to be from bt. she never showed me any proof or any link to myself or bt so i was dubious. she quickly asked how many devices were hooked up to the internet in my house. i told her to email me instead, but didnt give her my email since the companies i deal with already have my contact details. when i said i dont share info over the phone she just hung up right away.

Fraud Alert: I received a call from a woman with a thick accent who purported to be from BT. She immediately started probing me about how many devices I had linked to my internet. I told her to send me an email with her query, as I’m not one to hand out information over the phone. Besides, any legitimate company I’m associated with already knows my email. Before I knew it, they hung up on me without another word!
