Got loads of calls even tho I’m on the TPS register.

I did exactly the same, cancelled my gym membership through their online portal. When I check my account online, it says the membership is cancelled. I also stopped the direct debit. Yet, I’m still getting emails and calls from them about one month’s fee of £19.99 and now they’re demanding over £800 for admin fees and stopped direct debits. It’s ridiculous!

Ended my gym membership more than a year back, got a mate who works there and sent me a pic of my cancellation on their system. Now suddenly they're after me for payments? Totally dodgy, avoid at all costs!

I’m not even signed up at any gym and I ain’t replying to their text. Looks like they’re just trying to grab anyone with the same name to find the right person, or so I read on the money saving expert website.

I got a text saying it was from 'CRS', telling me there's an issue with my Direct Debit and I need to ring them straight away. I’ve no clue who they are, so there’s no way I’m giving them my info.

I stopped my Fit 4 Less gym payments through my bank but they keep emailing me saying I owe more than £200 and want me to ring them!! After seeing all these comments, I'm not sure if I should even bother calling them??

They sent me a letter then a text saying I need to call them urgently. After reading the comments here, I’m pretty sure it’s about me cancelling my gym membership after a year through the app. I haven’t called and definitely won’t be giving out any personal info! Seems like a total scam cos I cancelled my membership properly!

Proper frustrating! They called using my number but said a totally different name, which was dead confusing 😒

I signed up with Exercise4Less and ended the membership exactly one year later, just like the contract said. But they kept taking money from my account anyway. When I spotted this, I stopped the direct debit. Then out of nowhere, they started ringing me up a couple of months after to demand loads more cash. My £20 fee shot up to £180, all these so-called "admin charges". Honestly, avoid Exercise4Less - feels like they're just trying to rip you off.

I stopped the direct debit for my gym and also ended my membership through their website in the members section. I wasn’t locked into any contract and could leave whenever I liked, so I cancelled for personal reasons. Now, they keep emailing, texting and calling me saying I owe more than £300 for one missed month which only costs £19.99 monthly.

I’d steer clear of that debt collector, they’re really pushy and a bit scary. Best to just ignore them completely.

I’m not sure if this is a scam or what, but I used to go to a gym and cancelled my membership ages ago. Before leaving, I paid a one-off fee of £60. Even so, I keep getting emails saying I owe another £189.79. I’m pretty sure I’ve settled everything already and shouldn’t owe them a penny. Does this sound like a dodgy attempt to get more cash out of me?

Absolute rubbish! I can't believe anyone with even a bit of common sense would fall for this nonsense at all!

For the past couple of months, I’ve been bombarded with texts and calls from someone saying they’re “CRS” about a debt linked to a gym membership I ended over two years ago. They just won’t leave me alone. When I asked why the gym itself didn’t contact me directly, they refused to give any explanation. They claimed the debt was around £300 and were even asking for my age and DOB.

Trying to chase me for gym fees, seriously? I’ve been disabled and haven’t stepped foot in a gym for over a decade. How on earth did they even get my number? I’m ex-directory and I’m sure I never gave out my mobile. So who’s leaking my info then? Nope, I’m blocking them!

What a total load of rubbish, they’re saying it’s urgent to speak with me but won’t explain why. Some bloke asked for my address and postcode, and I told him no chance until he said what it’s all about. Definitely a scam.

These CRS lot have been texting and emailing me asking to call back about my girlfriend’s gym cancellation. We both signed up together but she didn’t want to give her number, so she cancelled herself, now they’re after me instead. Cheers for the posts, saved me from their nonsense - going straight to block!

Exactly like the others mentioned. I stopped my gym direct debit with exercise for less a couple months ago. Really happy I came across this thread because I was worried I’d messed up and still owed them cash. Feels like a bit of a scam so I’m not gonna ring them back. Funny enough, they haven’t bothered ringing me, just sent texts telling me to call them.

01444 449165 Sent me a few messages saying I need to call them ASAP about a letter they've supposedly sent? I've not got any letter at all! Rang a few times but no answer. From what people have said here, seems like it might be about gym membership - I stopped my direct debit with Exercise for Less a few months back. Definitely blocking them!
7 years
This company kept sending me loads of texts, telling me to get in touch with them asap. They never actually called me, just kept texting. One message even said they'd sent me a letter the week before, which I never got. I decided to call the number listed on their official website (not the one in the texts) because I found it fishy and I don’t owe anything. After reading what others said here, I’m now going to block the number, hoping that stops the texts since they never bothered to ring me in the first place.

Heads up everyone, don't sign up with exercise4less, they try to catch you out. I got a membership when I was under 18, and when I wanted to cancel, the bloke at the front desk said I wasn’t allowed to end it. I told him I was moving away, and he goes, “you can’t cancel if you still live within 15 miles of the gym." So in the end, I just stopped the direct debit myself.

Just got a message from someone called 'CRS' saying I need to call them back ASAP, said "we need to speak to you urgently". Feels dodgy to me cos the message came on an old phone I only use for a mobile trial - the SIM isn’t registered in my name, so how on earth do they know who they’re trying to reach urgently?!

This number left a really odd message on my phone, sounded like it was some computer-generated voice, not a real person talking. The weird thing is, I couldn’t delete the message, like it was stuck there on purpose, maybe hoping someone at my place would answer the call. Number calling was 07913699290.

Got a call from this number and they actually asked for me by name. I asked who was calling and they said CRS. Never heard of them at all, and the guy claimed we’d had loads of chats before, which is total rubbish. Then he started talking about data protection stuff and said there was no point in chatting further, then just hung up. What even was that?

These CRS people keep ringing me, twice in just three minutes! They say they’re chasing a debt from a gym I joined. Thing is, I cancelled my gym membership in person and gave them a written notice, but now they claim they've never got it. So, they’ve passed my debt onto this collection firm. This phone number is for the collectors. Honestly, it feels like a scam where gyms pass on fake debts to these companies. They act like you never told the gym about cancelling, so you supposedly owe for months of membership you didn’t even use. Loads of folks get intimidated into paying up, scared of ending up with a County Court Judgement over nothing. Absolutely shocking! Look this company up online and you’ll see tons of people complaining about exactly this. Don’t let them bully you, ring the Citizens Advice Bureau on 03454 040506 and make a complaint. They’ll tell you exactly what you’re entitled to. Don’t let them push you around!

This 01444449165 number has rung me a couple times, asking for someone called Mathew Peircy. They wouldn't say who they were. I've never heard of that name before, feels like some kind of scam. Some company called CRS or something has been bugging my daughter, tryin to make her pay money she aint owe. It started at like £9.99 and now it’s over £170! They can do one. I’m actually looking forward to next time they ring, gonna tell em to sort it out through the local county court and see if their comission fees and crazy bills stand up. Good luck with that! For the past five months they’ve been on at me nonstop because I didn’t renew my gym membership. I told them I cancelled properly, but they just keep emailing - must’ve sent me about 25 by now. It’s hilarious, really. They try to frighten me into paying up by mentioning debt collectors, but I’ve not got a single letter through the post. Weirdly my wife hasn’t had any emails either, and the fact they don’t have her number says something, doesn’t it? Bring it on, I’m not backing down!

They keep blowing up my phone and inbox saying they sent me a letter last week - which I never got, by the way. I’ve never signed up for any gym before, so I’ve got no clue how they even got hold of my number and email, especially since I only share those with a handful of people. Really weird.

Got a voicemail about my account with CLS, they left a ref number and wanted me to call back. Sounds like a total scam so I’m just gonna ignore it. Cheers for the heads up!

I ended my membership at Exercise 4 Less and now this place keeps chasing me for payments. Watch out for this gym, they seem to swap staff all the time and then act like you never gave any cancellation notice. Since it’s all done online, you don’t really get any proof.

Got a call from this debt collection firm CRS the other day. They try to scare you but honestly, they can’t take you to court or send anyone round your house. Best thing is just to block their number and ignore them, no need to stress over it.

Got a text about settling an account and it says to get in touch with CRS, feels a bit dodgy to me.

CRS Debt Recovery, they're a right dodgy outfit from Yorkshire. If anyone's nearby, they should just torch their office and give the lot of them a hard time. All they do is bother folks nonstop. These muppets should find a proper job instead! Any letters from them are rubbish and won’t hold up in court, so just chuck 'em in the bin. ;) Take it easy!

I already sorted out cancelling my gym membership at their office, so I’m not sure why you’re calling me. I don’t have any outstanding payments or anything like that. Cheers.

I just ignored the call, didn’t pick up.

Got a voicemail about some owed money to CLS, but I’ve no clue who they are. Decided to just block their number straight away. Feels like it could be a scam to me.

About 4 or 5 months back I ended my gym membership and was informed I'd need to pay a £9.99 cancellation charge, which I did. After that, I got three letters from them saying I still owe £170, which confuses me since I thought I had settled everything. Not sure why they keep bothering me about this.

I got a call from some debt collectors trying to tell me I owed money for a gym membership I don't even have. Total scam!

So this number just rang me up at my place asking for a person who ain't here. I told them to come round and see me instead. They were proper rude, so I was like yeah, bring it on! I'm 6 foot 2 and trained in karate, so I ain't bothered one bit.

They kept insisting my daughter owes money, but she’s still at college, so that can’t be right.

Got a call from an unknown number asking me to ring them up. No idea who they are, so I'll just give it a miss.

Got a call from some place called CRS Company. They said they mailed me a letter and want to chat about it. Never heard of them before, and I've only had this number for a few months.

I signed up for a gym about 3 years ago but hardly used it, so I decided to cancel my membership. They had been taking an extra £15.99 from my account each month without my say. I stopped the direct debit payments, but now they keep sending me threatening letters about going to court, and they keep calling and texting constantly. When I ring them up to sort things out, the staff are really rude and say I have to rejoin before I can cancel properly. And when I mention the extra money they took, they act like they have no idea what I’m talking about. Very frustrating!

Someone has been sending texts to my 12 year olds phone, which is really worrying. I reached out to the sender but they refused to talk or help at all. I told them if they keep messaging, I’ll have to get the police involved! For now, I’ve blocked the number on my kid’s phone.

I got a rather pressing text from the number +447392312269 that said: "It’s important you ring CRS at 01444449165 straight away as we need to discuss something with you today. Cheers."

Got a text from this company out of the blue today saying I should call them about cancelling a subscription. Never had anything to do with them before and only got this phone since Christmas so hardly anyone's got my new number. Seems dodgy to me, maybe a scam. I'm just gonna give it a miss since I don't owe them a penny.

Seems like there's a finance company out there that's in the business of collecting debts tied to gym memberships. Quite an unusual mix, if you ask me!

i've come across these folks before. they’re really annoying and have absolutely no reason to be calling me.

They tried to get me to ring them back since there was no one to talk to at the time. Felt like a proper nuisance call.

Is this a call from a personal enterprise, perhaps?

Haha! I ended up recording a message on their answering machine saying something like, “Please get in touch with Chris at CRS when you’re able. We’ve left several messages, and this issue certainly isn’t resolving itself.” Quite amusing, considering we’re disputing a debt we reckon isn’t even ours, associated with Top Notch! Our piece of advice for everyone is to steer clear of these callers; if you do answer, hang up the moment they mention CRS. Oh, by the way, it’s worth noting that they often ring back shortly after from a private number!

Absolutely the same experience! Quite infuriating and rather condescending, if you ask me. They’ve dared to imply that we’ve terminated our gym membership direct debit. Oddly enough, they’ve been sending letters to our neighbours, suggesting we’re in financial trouble! They even contacted flat number 125, while we reside at 129! After having a chat with our bank, it turns out that they didn’t even set up a direct debit in the first place! How ridiculous is that?

Could someone please leave a voicemail for a "Ryan Betteridge," requesting them to return the call and reference code 870011? I'm just curious, who on earth are these folks?

We received numerous calls from this company, and when we attempted to return the call, the chap we spoke to was incredibly abrasive. The moment we refused to share any personal details, he became quite uncooperative. It was really off-putting, and he wouldn’t even disclose the name of their business. I would strongly advise against engaging with this company. They clearly operate in a rather aggressive manner.

Hey, I stopped my direct debit with gym4less ages ago but they kept sending me demand letters - ended up getting three! Now they’re phoning me as well. I looked into it and found out CRS is actually part of the Harlands group, just operates on a different floor. I wrote to the managing director explaining everything and told him I consider the matter paused since he knows about it now. From now on, I’m just going to ignore any more letters or calls from them since I’ve done what I’m supposed to.

Blimey, these pests just don’t quit! They seem to have a plethora of numbers at their disposal. It’s been relentless-I've counted nine calls from them in just one day, ringing from early morning till late at night, around 7:30 to 11! What a right nuisance!

This evening (6/12/10), we received a rather curious text on our mobile stating that we must urgently contact 0149165 regarding a multitude of letters supposedly sent to us by these individuals. After a bit of digging online, it turns out this number is linked to a debt collection agency associated with a gym. Given that we have no outstanding debts and are rather past the point of considering gym memberships due to age and fitness levels, we will not be returning their call. It’s quite baffling, really, since we've had no previous communication from CRS whatsoever.
