Got a call no long ago from someone named James Anderson claimin I was under investigation for tax dodging. He was going on about court stuff but messed up cos we don't have them local courts like over in America. He rang me from a Bradford area code, 01274 792303. Makes me worried for elder or vulnerable folk who might believe this lot. Funnily enough, there’s a James Anderson on LinkedIn listed as an HMRC tax adviser - maybe they use that name to sound legit if you look them up before answering.

I got a voicemail like what others mentioned, but luckily my phone was off then. The message was from a 'James Anderson' claiming to be from 'HMRC', speaking with an American accent and it was a recorded message that started right in the middle of a sentence. It talked about fraud and tax evasion, threatening legal action in a ‘local courthouse’ using my name, but they obviously didn’t know who I am. The previous day I received the exact same message but from a different phone number (01438940554), which others have also flagged. Definitely a dodgy scam.

Got calls twice today from 01444390249, Haywards Heath. Left messages saying if I don’t get back to him about unpaid tax, they’ll take me to court and I’ll be in big trouble, even arrested for fraud apparently. Sounded very threatening and scary. Not sure who this 'James Anderson from HMRC' thinks he is, but it was really upsetting. Felt quite stressed by it, so I’ve just blocked the number now.

Today I got a call where they said I was gonna face court over some tax fraud unless I called them back right away. I just hung up on them. After that, I came across this website and decided to report the incident here.

Got a couple of calls from someone saying their name was James Anderson and they were with HMRC. They accused me of tax fraud and said I was being taken to court! Left two voicemails today and kept insisting I call back straight away. Had a really strong American accent and was super pushy. Totally unpleasant. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from 01444 390249, an automated voice claiming it’s James Henderson from HMRC. It kept warning about some fraud involving the government and told me to ring back that number to stop a warrant being put out for me. It kept repeating the message but never said who the call was actually for. Proper fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from some guy called James Anderson claiming to be from HMRC. Right away the way he said 'courthouse' tipped me off - that's not a term they'd use here in the UK, sounds very much American. He started threatening legal action without even trying to explain things properly. Surely HMRC wouldn't jump straight to court stuff without proper warnings first? It's so frustrating these scams keep happening, why can't someone do more to stop them?

They keep ringing me and dropping voice mails which i never bother listening to. Whenever i get a call from a number I don’t know, i just check here straight away. Seriously irritating. I’m just gonna block it now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC. They didn’t bother with a friendly intro or anything, just jumped right into accusing me of some fraud and said I needed to call a number to stop a warrant being issued. Honestly, just ignore it - total scam.

Got two calls today from 01444390249, apparently based in Haywards Heath. The bloke left a message saying I'm gonna get court summons for not paying taxes and if I don’t ring back, I’m supposedly at risk of being arrested for fraud. Really threatening stuff, made me feel quite anxious. Definitely dodgy and not the sort of call you want. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a recorded call earlier, said it was from HMRC and that I’m heading to court over tax avoidance. Thing is, there are four of us living here and they couldn’t even say who exactly they were talking about. Seems a bit dodgy to me.
