It was some “Benefits UK” lot ringing me, and honestly, I just hung up straight away. If you’ve got BT’s Call Protect, it should stop those calls for you. Trying to block them on your phone is useless since they spoof their numbers and switch them often. They’re really a nightmare, and since they operate out of India, there’s nothing the ICO or Ofcom can really do about it. Total pain.

I got a call from 01443834738 and some woman with a foreign accent was saying she was just checking my phone line. She then asked me to verify my address but the info she had wasn’t quite right. When I asked where she’d got my details from, she said it was all public info. I told her I’m registered with the telephone preference service so she shouldn’t be calling me, then I hung up.
