We told them straight away we didn’t want to change. Both companies are now sorting it out. It’s been a right hassle and wasted time, but thankfully nothing bad happened.

Someone just phoned me using my name, saying they were from eon next, asking why I was thinking of switching. I told them I was looking for a cheaper deal. They then wanted to check my usage and stuff. I said no thanks and hung up. Feels like maybe someone at eon next is sharing info?

Got a call from someone saying they were from "eon" with a Welsh accent, saying they could give me a cheaper deal on my account. They asked for my postcode, house number and email to "verify" my info, then stayed quiet for about 3 minutes like they were checking something. A call came in about 10 minutes back, inquiring for me. My workmate picked up, but when they asked for me, the caller abruptly hung up. Curious, I decided to check the number and found several sites, including yours, flagging it as potentially fraudulent. I attempted to dig deeper into two of those sites, only to find my IP address has been blocked - could it be that answering the call triggered something on their end? I would definitely categorise this as a harmful call and I can't help but question how they're still in operation, given the number of complaints already filed against them.

So earlier today I sorted out moving my Eon account to my new place. Then this number rings me up asking if I planned on transferring my Eon account to the new address. How on earth did they find that out?

Caller claimed to be from E-on offering a cheaper tariff to save me some cash. Asked me to confirm my name and address to look into my account. Was suspicious, so he emailed me something 'official'. The email was from a sketchy address and looked fake. He spoke with a Scottish accent, which was unusual compared to the usual Indian calls. I double-checked with E-on directly. Definitely a SCAM! Watch out.

Got two calls from this number earlier today, but the caller just dropped as soon as I picked up. I recently shifted home, so I’ve been dealing with EON Next (cancelled at old address), Ovo Energy (cancelled at new address), and now I’m with Octopus at the new place. Plus, I gave my number to estate agents Oakmans and Home Let for background checks. Not sure which of their systems got hacked. Also, it seems like my number’s been spoofed - two strange people messaged me asking why I rang them. One was pretty annoyed, so I had to show him my call logs to prove I didn’t call.

I just got a call from this number a bit ago, but the person ended the call as soon as I picked up. Funny enough, I only began switching from EON Next this morning. I've told Eon about it and I'd recommend anyone else in this kind of spot to do likewise. Feels like someone inside their company is sharing private details, which is a big GDPR concern.

Just had a similar experience, and it set off some alarms for me. A chap with a distinctive Northern Irish lilt claimed he was calling from 'E-on' to ensure my account was in good order. However, he insisted I answer some security questions before proceeding. As soon as I asked him to clarify the company name again, the line suddenly went dead! This matches what people have been mentioning! I recently changed my address and cancelled Eon just yesterday. This morning, I got a call from this number. I didn’t pick up because I was already on the phone, but after checking it here, it turned out to be a scam! TOTAL SCAM! A bloke rang claiming to be from E-ON, had my phone number, surname and even the last two digits of my account - proper worrying stuff. Looks like there’s some kind of data leak happening. Don’t give them any info at all. Turns out the number belongs to AQL WHOLESALE LIMITED in Pontypridd, Wales, not E-ON.
