Watch out, these are all dodgy calls pretending to be from Amazon and BT. I phoned Amazon myself and they told me there’s a specific fraud number and site to report these scams. They know about all this. If you have Prime, give them a ring - it won’t cost you - and report the caller’s number. You can try blocking the numbers if your phone supports it, but they keep ringing from loads of different numbers, even mobiles. They’ve been at it for a couple of weeks now.

I received a message claiming I had missed a call from BT, stating they needed to discuss some dubious activity linked to my internet. Interestingly, the same voice was on a previous call that supposedly came from Amazon. I've had a couple of calls from this number on our office line. The same automated spiel was played, claiming I had missed a call from my internet provider, with a rather alarming message about my line being cut off in the next 24 hours due to alleged illegal activity. It's obviously a scam. I've reported this to BT previously, but to no avail as they seem powerless to act. They give two options; one to speak to an Executive and another to chat with a Technical Executive. If you don’t select either option and just keep the phone line open, it disconnects after a short while. I also wondered if another call I received shortly after, from 01227 069284, could be related.

Got a dodgy call at 08:49 this morning. They just hung up as soon as I picked up but left a voicemail about some ‘illegal internet activity’. Complete rubbish, just a scam. They deserve to be marched down the street, tarred and feathered, then tossed into the river!

Got a call at the crack of dawn, which was the second time this week. I let it ring out. Tried to check who it was by dialling 1471 and then hit 3 to call back, but BT wouldn't let the redial go through. Proper frustrating!

Got a recorded call claiming to be Amazon, saying they were gonna charge me £80 for Prime. I ended the call straight away, figured it was dodgy. From what I’ve heard, Amazon only contacts you by email, never by phone like that.
