My friend was getting calls like 3 or 4 times a day, they even knew her name but she never gave it to them. So I rang back using a made up name and told them to leave her alone, but they just claimed they were some electric company? Not sure what’s going on but someone needs to sort this out.

Got a call on my mobile and the person knew my name and where I live. Since I'm in Scotland, they put on this dodgy accent saying they were from an energy firm and started asking about my meters and how I pay. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number. If they ring back, I'll block them again without a doubt.

Just had a ring from someone who knew my name and was asking about the kind of top ups I get. Claimed to be from Scottish Power energy but the number started with a Wales area code. Felt dodgy straight away, so I kept messing about, not giving any answers and making him guess. Eventually, he just hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Had a call from someone saying they were from Peoples Power who already knew my name and that I'm disabled and on the priority list for energy companies. They told me I had to switch my tariff from British Gas to them because the cold is coming. When I said no thanks, they wouldn't take it and started getting really rude and pushy. Honestly, don’t fall for this, it was a really unpleasant experience.

Just missed a call from 01443 249006 so I called back. A man with a Scottish accent picked up and started telling me my name and address before I could even speak. He then said I’ve been overpaying on my energy bills since the start of covid. It all seemed really odd and he sounded in a hurry, quite dodgy if you ask me. Watch out for this one. quite strange, a guy said he was calling from a power company and ive just blocked a number from dumbarton thats been looked up more than 1000 times this week. makes me think there might be a link. if any of you do those online surveys, maybe some of those places are actually sharing our info even tho they say they dont. anyway, this number is now blocked on my phone after reading all your comments. cheers everyone
