I got a call from an unknown number and decided to act like I was from abroad. He even said my name two times! But once he heard my funny accent, he just dropped the call. Quite funny actually!

Total rip-off! They rang me about my appliance insurance (which I already have) and they knew my full name, address, and postcode. They said since I’m a loyal customer, they’d cut my premium from £100 a year down to £60 - sounded good! Then they asked if the appliance was still a free-standing one. That raised red flags because my real insurer would already know that. Then they pressed me on how I wanted to pay the first year, Mastercard or Visa. But I pay by Direct Debit normally. When I asked her to give me the Make and Model of my device, she just hung up on me straight away.

Watch out, this is definitely a scam! Someone called me claiming to be Conor with 'Appliance Protection', saying my washing machine's manufacturer warranty was up. However, as I was well aware that none of our appliances were still under warranty, I pressed for the make. To my amusement, he rattled off four different brands that they supposedly represent.
