I got a couple of missed calls from 01442825653 on Wednesday and then another one this morning. I picked up and the bloke on the phone already knew my name, but was coughing the whole time. He asked if I was a doctor, but I told him no and asked who he was. He said he'd got a cold and someone told him I was a doctor and gave him my number. I said he must have the wrong one, then he just hung up. He sounded Asian and said he was calling from Hemel Hempstead. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming there was an issue with my Windows. I asked him to tell me exactly what was wrong and how he planned to sort it before I’d even think about anything. If you put a bit of pressure on these lot, they usually back off pretty quick. Got a call about some issue with my Windows. I asked what was wrong and he said my computer’s Windows licence was throwing up error messages. I just said “Oh, right?” and held on, expecting the usual “I can sort that out for you” line, but then he just ended the call. Classic scam, just fishing for someone to fall for it.

This number is persistently ringing my mobile and has now moved on to my landline as well. I distinctly recall someone identifying themselves as being from "You Benefit" and wanting to ask me a few questions. I ended up hanging up on them, but the calls haven't stopped. Really starting to get on my nerves! - Caller: You Benefit.

Today I got a ring from this number, I let them access my computer, after that they claimed there were issues that’d cost £60 to sort out and said they'd be in touch again tomorrow. I'm thinking about doing a full restore on my PC and blocking the number - does that sound right?

Got a call today from 01442 825654, total rubbish. Some lady with an Asian accent rang me saying she was from Microsoft and there was a problem with my computer. Since I work in IT, I could spot the scam straight away. I told her I actually work for Microsoft, and if she said which team she was from, I'd pop round to have a chat. She hung up on me right away.

Just got a ring from 01442 825 654, and honestly, it was a total scam. Some lady with an Asian accent called me claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my computer. Since I’m a tech guy myself, I instantly spotted the con. I fired back that I actually work for Microsoft and asked her which division she was from, saying I’d come by to chat. She ended the call right away.

Got a few rings today from the same number, so I picked up. This bloke on the other end was going on about some trouble with my Windows system. Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent, but the connection was so bad it was hard to catch what she was saying. After seeing what others have said, it seems like the same kind of scam. She kept saying it was crucial I pay attention and follow her instructions, which made me a bit uneasy since my computer's been acting up lately. I wasn't sure if it was legit, so I ended up hanging up. Cheers to sites like this one - I’ve blocked the number now. Really appreciate the help!

Loads of missed calls from this number, most times it was just dead silence. Today I finally answered and the bloke said he got my digits from the car licence registry. When I asked where he was ringing from, he said Victoria Street, London but the number on my phone said Hemel Hempstead. Something felt off so I just ended it. Why on earth would anyone ring to say my computer’s going bad? Turns out my instincts were spot on - total scam.

Got loads of missed calls from this number, and when I picked up at last, some bloke with an Asian accent called himself Adam. He started saying my computer had a nasty virus or something. I played along for a while and then asked him what kind of computer he reckoned I had. He guessed a MAC, but I’ve never even touched a MAC before. So I just ended the call. Definite scam, watch out!

Total scam alert! Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed there was a problem with my Windows license. I asked if she was actually from Microsoft and where exactly she was ringing from. She said Manchester, but when I mentioned there’s no Microsoft office there, she claimed she was just “Windows.” Then I asked if her firm was a recognised Windows partner, and she abruptly ended the call! Save yourself and block this number straight away.
