Then, out of the blue, I got a notification from Coinbase informing me that my password had been altered, not to mention a separate alert containing my 2-step verification code. Just a minute after that, I noticed I had missed four calls from this number. I suspect it was a dodgy bot trying to lure me into giving away my verification details. I promptly had to put my Coinbase account on ice and began the rather tedious process of unfreezing it.
