This morning I got like five calls from a really pushy bloke with an Indian accent claiming my computer was under attack. He said he was calling from Microsoft and wanted me to turn my PC on. I kept refusing and as soon as I hung up, he rang again every single time. Then he started shouting, calling me a terrorist and a criminal, even said my partner was involved with Isis! I told the police about it but of course, the number was blocked. He gave me the name Charlie Belford or something like that.

I got this call from 01442780120 and the guy said he was Isaac Olstn from Microsoft's tech support team. He gave me some employee ID and an address, but when I wouldn't switch on my computer, he got pretty angry. I’m sure it was a scam, but he seemed to know enough details to convince some people it was legit. Definitely sounded like a dodgy call.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Microsoft, said my PC was hacked. He gave me his name and ID without any fuss - said he was Franklin Foster and worked out of Thames Valley Park in Reading. He wanted me to switch on my computer, but I pretended the screen he wanted wasn’t showing. After that didn’t work, he asked me to install some file sharing software so he could get into my PC. I told him straight up I wasn’t going to do that as my daughter actually works in Microsoft’s anti-fraud team. That seemed to rattle him a bit, and the call ended with him saying I should check with her if I was unsure - quite cheeky really. He said he might ring back tomorrow… wonder if he will. The number was 01442780120.

Some guy with an Indian accent rang me, pretending to be from Microsoft. He claimed my computer was at risk and that I needed to switch it off immediately to avoid being hacked. I cut the call, but he called again right away, telling me I was impolite for hanging up. He said his name was Charlie Brown and gave me a number to check - 01442 780120. Turns out, that number isn’t real. Then, the next day, my laptop just wouldn’t start, even though it had a full battery. This bloke was quite pushy and unpleasant. - caller: Charlie
