A bloke with an Asian accent gave me a ring at 09:15 this morning. He claimed my BT Openreach account had been hacked via the IP address and would be blocked for 5-7 days. When I asked for the company address, he couldn’t answer. I then asked if it was in London, and he said yes. I pushed for the exact address and he finally said Kings Cross Road, London. When I asked for the postcode, he went quiet. I checked if he was still there and asked again for the postcode. At that point, he just hung up. I've reported it to Action Fraud.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he’s from BT Openreach, claiming my internet was under attack. I told him I’m not even a BT customer and asked where exactly he was calling from. I get calls nearly every morning around 7.30 to 8am. An Asian bloke pretending to be from BT Openreach, telling me my IP address is at risk. I just hang up straight away without even responding because its clear this is a scam - BT wouldn't ring me that early anyway. I've had two calls from this number and they keep pestering me on a weekly basis! It’s infuriating, especially when I have to dash from upstairs to answer. I just wish they'd give it a rest. The caller has an Asian accent, which I can’t help but notice. I never let them finish their spiel, as there’s always that awkward pause that gives away it’s a call centre. They mentioned they would ring back, but when I tried to get their number, it turned out to be untraceable! Is it standard procedure for Openreach to contact customers about such issues? Got a call from this number, a woman with a strong foreign accent. they called me about 5 times today, didnt pick up on the first ring so I just blocked the number. even tho its blocked, it still keeps ringing but my voicemail says the call isnt allowed. the caller ID showed 'international' so it looks like its going through someones pc. very annoying but I dont think theyre loosing anything cause my voicemail is picking up.

Just got a call a minute ago, some woman with a weird accent claiming she’s from BT Openreach, asking if I knew someone was trying to get into my internet account! Yeah right, like I’d believe that from you lot! Slammed the phone down before she could finish.

Rang me at 8 in the morning, which was a bad time. When I picked up, I just heard some half-hearted "hello"s and then nothing. Ended the call pretty quick.

01442393288 has rung me three times today already. When I told them I thought it was a spam call and asked if they even knew my name, I got a rude reply. Told them exactly what I thought back!

Yesterday, I received two calls from a gentleman and then later a lady, both masquerading as representatives from BT Openreach. They rang me again quite early today at 7:45 am. The moment I questioned them, they promptly terminated the call. The number they were calling from was 01442393288.

Somebody rang, saying they were from BT Openreach and threatened to cut off my internet within a day. When I told them my internet isn’t actually through BT, they just ended the call straight away!

This morning, I had a couple of rather suspicious phone calls. The first caller introduced himself as Sam, but when he rang back, he suddenly went by Jack. Both times, there was a strong Indian accent that I couldn't miss. They claimed to be from BT Openreach, insisting they were about to disconnect my internet within the next day for a week due to some alleged issue with my IP address. I couldn't help but scoff at their nonsense, and they promptly hung up on me. I then dialled 1471 to trace the number, which came up as 01442 393288. I’ve tried calling it back a couple of times, but it seems completely unrecognised! - caller: 01442 393288

Fraudulent call! An individual, supposedly from BT OpenReach, contacted me. He had a pronounced Asian accent and introduced himself as either Sam or Jack. He was making alarming claims about problems with my IP address, threatening to sever my internet connection within a day and keep it down for a week!
This number, 01442 393288, seems to be unfamiliar to me!

Heads up, folks. My mother-in-law got a call yesterday from someone pretending our internet had been hacked and there were like seven people from different countries using our connection. They claimed these strangers were trying to steal personal info and said they needed to turn off the internet for 24 hours. They even told her to log into some website. The accent seemed Indian or something. Whatever you do, don’t engage with these callers. Just hang up straight away. I rang BT afterwards and they confirmed they’d never ring customers about stuff like this.

I received a call from that number mentioned above, and, unfortunately, I took them at their word. They managed to infiltrate my laptop, accessing my personal information, and even placed an order through Amazon on my behalf. Shortly after, I got a text from my bank notifying me of a £100 transaction that I hadn’t authorised. In a panic, I contacted my bank and had my cards cancelled right away. Then the same number called again, and I made it clear that I'd be notifying the police if they didn’t back off. They ominously warned that if I didn’t want any internet protection, they would wipe everything from my laptop. It seems they had deployed some sort of malware to maintain remote access and steal my details. I reported the incident to the police, who provided me with an action fraud reference number to follow up on. I reached out to them, and my case has now been forwarded to the national bureau for further investigation. In the meantime, I’ve also asked my internet service provider to change my router for added security.

Today between 1.30 and 2.15pm, my elderly mum got two calls from this number but she didn’t pick up either time. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call this morning around 8.30am from a woman named Jennifer saying my internet router was hacked. When I asked for her contact details, she gave me a number that seemed to be from BT Openreach. Somehow, I felt it was dodgy, so I just ended the call. Later, I looked you up online to check and yep, turned out to be a scam after all.

So this morning at about 7:52 am I got a call from this number. Luckily, I have BT call minder, so they ended up hanging up. I decided to check who it was by searching on this site - cheers for having this helpful service!

It first displayed as "International," but then switched back to the number above. They've rung me four times today-it's quite bothersome!
