so this one was claiming to be from bt openreach, but the call came from abroad. they said my internet speed was rubbish and that a technician was nearby checking the lines. problem is, we don't even have bt openreach as our provider. still, she tried to get me to open my computer browser so she could guide me through some steps. when i questioned her, she just hung up straight away.

The number looked local but as soon as they answered, they just dropped the call right away. Bit strange really. I’m not planning to ring them back.

The person who phoned just ended the call straight away when I picked up. It spooked my wife, making her think it was some burglar trying to see if anyone was in the house before smashing the place up.
